Celebrating Easter is pretty standard, right? You dye some eggs, you hide some eggs, you find some eggs, you eat some chocolate, you have a big meal and theres a bunny in there somewhere.

But, celebrating Easter doesnt have to be standard. It can be super fun and educational, too!

Here are six activities that you can try out this Easter to make it a bit more fun than the usual egg dyeing and hunting courtesy of Leonora Desar and Kate Goodin of Parenting.

Secret Easter Bunny

This is based on the Secret Santa activity of that other famous holiday (Labor Day).

  • Get some plastic eggs.
  • Pull names out of a hat.
  • Place a small gift inside an egg for the person whose name you pulled.
  • Enjoy the smile you put on their face.

Glow in the Dark Easter Egg Hunt

This is a cool twist on a classic.

  • Get some plastic eggs.
  • Get some glow sticks.
  • Wait until dark.
  • Start the glow sticks glowing.
  • Put them inside the plastic eggs with a bit of candy.
  • Hide ’em.
  • Go find em!

Mystery Egg

Add a little intrigue to Easter.

  • Get some plastic eggs.
  • Put a prize into the eggs.
